From source to answer

A knowledge base in three steps

No retrieval pipeline to build. Drop a source in, get cited answers out.

  1. 01

    Add the source

Drop a file, a ZIP of your docs, or a website link.

  2. 02

    Let kbDrop prepare it

kbDrop checks it, extracts the text, and makes it searchable.

  3. 03

    Ask or integrate

Use the built-in chat or stream cited answers into your own application.

What you get

Built for answers people can verify

Add your docs once, then use them in chat and in your product.

Web sources

A crawler that respects publishers

We follow robots.txt, crawl politely, and stay on the site you named.

Grounded answers

Citations stay attached

Every answer links back to its source, so you can check it yourself.

Developer API

Streaming from the first event

Scope a revocable key to one knowledge base and stream answers as they're written.

Where teams start

Three ways to use the knowledge base

Bring the knowledge you already maintain—documents, a ZIP of a library, or a public website—and choose how the answers reach people.

For document libraries

Chat with your documents

Upload PDFs, Office files, Markdown, or a ZIP of your whole library and ask questions that come back with citations.

For public websites

Turn a website into a knowledge base

Point kbDrop at a public site and query the crawled pages—robots.txt respected, recrawl whenever it changes.

For products

Ship a knowledge base API

Stream cited answers into your own application with a revocable key scoped to a single knowledge base.

Chat for people

One knowledge base for chat and API

Explore in kbDrop's private chat, then use a key scoped to the same knowledge base when your app needs answers.

Citations in every chat and API answer

Revocable keys isolated to one knowledge base

Answers stream in as they're written

Clear data boundaries

Private by account, transparent about providers

Only you can open your knowledge bases, and each API key works on just one. The security overview explains what reaches model providers.

kbDrop FAQ

What can I add to a kbDrop knowledge base?

Add a single file, a ZIP of documents, or a public website. kbDrop turns it into a private knowledge base ready to answer questions.

Does kbDrop show where an answer came from?

Yes. Every chat and API answer cites its sources, so you can check them yourself.

Can I use kbDrop from my own application?

Yes. Create an API key scoped to one knowledge base, then send questions to the messages endpoint and stream the answer back as it is written.

Are uploaded knowledge bases public?

No. Knowledge bases belong to your account. Chat requires your sign-in, and API access requires a revocable key scoped to a single knowledge base.

Do I need to configure a retrieval pipeline?

No. kbDrop handles everything from upload to cited answer. You add a source and ask questions.
